Greek Attitudes

The Greeks are confused as to what they want from Europe.

Greeks seem confused about the merits of the European Union, with the majority wanting closer integration while also doubting the benefits of the euro.
Somehow they are not happy with what they have had, but they still want more. I'm almost as confused as they are. A tip to any Greeks out there. If you don't like something don't ask for more. They know one thing though:
Some 70 percent of Greeks say they are against Turkey joining the EU - well above the 52 percent average for the 25 member states.
Once upon a time this would have been a "Surprise of the Week" story, but recently Greeks have been much warmer towards Turkish Membership. I guess the Cyprus issue has put them all off.
