Prepare to Meet Your Maker

The world is about to end. No not due to global warming, a meteor strike or a cabal of Jewish Neo Conservatives, but rather due to the voting intentions of the electorate a medium sized nation.
A French rejection of the European Union's constitutional treaty would result in the “fall of Europe,” Romano Prodi, former president of the European Commission, warned on Sunday.
He went on to say:
“There would be no more Europe”
Since it is difficult to imagine a disaster that destroys Europe without damaging the rest of the world, I assume that “The End is Nigh”. Sorry I just realised that Prodi meant the EU not Europe. If only they would be clear about the difference, idiot Eurosceptics like me wouldn’t get confused. It’s an overstatement if ever I have heard one. I guess he’s trying to scare the voters, but obviously hasn’t heard of the concept of credibility. EU Rota describes the over reactions as the Empty Suit Crisis. Elsewhere, the coming crisis may put some off of joining the Euro. President Vike-Freiberga of Latvia had this to say:
“The markets are already getting nervous about the future of the euro. Latvia, as a country that was planning to join the euro on January 1, 2008, is, of course, concerned about anything that is going to weaken or throw into misbalance the solidity of this currency.”
Chirac to be humiliated, the train of integration to be derailed and the new members to refuse the Euro! All in all the future is looking brighter by the day.
