You're Popular and Beautiful....

The whole world knows your name..... But suppose you gave a referendum and nobody came !!!!! The turnout in the Spanish Referendum was enough to save face for the Spanish Government. Just.

Participation was 42.3 per cent, the lowest electoral turnout since the restoration of democracy in 1978, and an indication of the Spanish government's failure to ignite interest in the referendum campaign.
When the whole future of your country is up for grabs, its incredible how many people are completely apathetic. The Yes side had a very overwhelming majority of those who could be bothered. I guess that's what you get from a country that sees the EU as a gravy train. For those that pay for that gravy, the situation is of course different. (In case you wondered, the title is inspired by a Carter USM song)
