Driving Europe Apart

Fine ideals count for nothing when it comes revenue collection. Cheap flights have brought Europeans together in a way that even a curmudgeonly Eurosceptic like me can appreciate. No Brussels Bureaucrat can ever hope to match this impact with any amount of laws and regulations. So surprise surprise, the days of cheap flying could be soon gone.
Germany will this week step up pressure within the European Union for a tax on airline fuel to fund extra development aid.
If we had a real man as Prime Minister, like the last but one occupier of that position, every time someone mentioned the poor, they would answer back CAP. But that’s too much to expect from the current Quisling of Downing Street.
