Barroso’s Agenda

President of the Commission José Manuel Barroso is being told in no uncertain terms that he must be a man for all seasons:
Barroso must show us that he is a president for all of Europe, not just for the right-wing in Europe.
So says Martin Schulz leader of the Party of European Socialists. Being someone with strong political beliefs I do wonder what such tripe could mean. How is one to make all of the people happy all of the time. In addition he is telling Barroso what his priorities should be (his MEP’s represent around one third of the electorate).
Schulz has set four challenges for Brussels: the creation of more and better jobs, independent EU leadership, a strong external relations policy and commitment to the European social model.
To which I say, if we are going to stick to the European social model why not just ban right wingers from the EU and all its institutions. As for more and better jobs, lets burn all of the EU’s regulations and allow companies to create a job or two.
