What can he mean I hear you ask, is it going to disappear? Not quite, but it seems that the newer members are still well beyond the dead hand of the single currency.
None of the EU member states working towards euro entry meet all of the criteria to join the single currency yet, the European Commission said in a report.Technically they are all obliged to join when they meet the criteria, though I find it hard to believe that a government that didn't want to couldn't find an excuse to postpone. So it is good that they are not in a position to throw away their economies just yet.
I hope that within a short period of time, someone will actually stand up and say that it would be stupid to join. That could break the sheep like tendency to just follow the flock.
