Tough on Immigration
Our Glorious Leader, in the knowledge that his lies on immigration have been rumbled, has vowed to be much tougher this time. His tame Pit Bull has been telling the world that Romanians and Bulgarians, will not have the automatic right to work in the UK next year, unlike their more fortunate Polish counterparts. Thats the theory anyway. The reality?
EU law means the Government can’t stop people coming – so permits will only drive people into the illegal economy.Read that carefully. Under EU law, all Romanians and Bulgarians have the right to come to the UK. The system to be put in place simply means that they cannot work legally. So my question to you is this: A Bulgarian who has been unable to find a job at home is now faced with an option
- Stay where he is unemployed
- Come to the UK and work illegally
Something which not enough people are aware of is exactly what free movement of people means. Open Europe spells out one very big problem with it:
While EU law allows the Government to restrict numbers coming to work for companies in the UK it currently forbids it from stopping dangerous criminals from entering the country, or deporting them if they commit a crime in the UK.
Seeing as crooks have more reason than most to wish to move around, this part of the law is a complete criminals charter. Probably in place to make a power grab in the area of justice much easier.

And those complaining about it are committing a crime against the antidiscrimination laws of the EU and may end up in a Bulgerian prison as a consequence of the European Arrest Warrant:
"How does the European Arrest
Warrant work?
The following rules apply.
Any person in any EU member
country (not protected by
immunity) may be subject to an
EU arrest warrant.
A court official in any EU
member state may issue an arrest
warrant to the courts within the
member state in which the
accused person happens to be,
and the warrant must be
executed within one month.
The warrant does not have to
provide prima facie evidence of
the crime concerned but merely
has to claim that the suspected
person is required for
investigation for any one of the
32 named categories of offences
covered by the warrant.
The warrant does not need to
detail the substance of the case
against the accused.
There is no need for a hearing in
an English or Scottish court to
test even the prima facie
evidence of the case.
All that is required is that the
extraditing magistrate should tick
one of the 32 alleged offences
and state time of offence,
degree of participation, and
other details.
The warrant can also require the
"confiscation and handing over
of property that may be required
as evidence", and, "the seizure
and handing over of property
acquired by the requested
person as a result of the offence, if known."
This might also include bloggers and their computers because the EU mandates data retention of all communication as well as the elimination of anonymous access, via cybercafes and pre-paid phone cards.
Welcome, Happy 1984!
That's right Mr. serf, it's called freedom of travel.
They can come here and you can go there.
They can come and work if self employed. They can come but not work if not self employed.
Great isn't it?
That means Mr. Serf (according to your perverse logic) if you become unemployed, you can move to Bulgaria where they will welcome you with open arms and give you a car, a house and a million pounds a week in benefits.
at least that's your kind of story for the EU.
Remember Mr. Serf the Germans and French etc can only keep their doors closed for so long.
Britain and Sweden may have opened early but can close them anytime they like.
It stands , therefore to reason that............

As usual your comments are completely meaningless. Let me repeat myself in short sentences so that even you can understand.
Free movement of normal decent people to work = Good Thing
Free movement of criminals = Bad thing
Government policy on work permits = Stupid thing.
OK, was that simple enough?
"Free movement of normal decent people to work = Good Thing"
Serf's point is supported by Milton Freedman, the Nobel Prize winner of economics. In an interview, he said:
"Is immigration, I asked -- especially illegal immigration -- good for the economy, or bad? "It's neither one nor the other," Mr. Friedman replied. "But it's good for freedom. In principle, you ought to have completely open immigration. But with the welfare state it's really not possible to do that. . . . "If there were no welfare state," he continued, "you could have open immigration, because everybody would be responsible for himself."
Remember Mr. Serf the Germans and French etc can only keep their doors closed for so long.
At least that's the theory put out by europhiles, but in reality the Germans French just do what's in their own best interest and say bollocks to the EU legislation...why should they worry when they can just change it eh? Like they did with the fiscal rules when it didn't suit them.
But of course Eurp mongs don't want to face those issue do they? A biot like commissioners and auditors....
But with the welfare state it's really not possible to do that. . . . "If there were no welfare state," he continued, "you could have open immigration, because everybody would be responsible for himself."
but Milton Friedman is disingenuous - most people would write "Nation-state" and not simply "welfare-state".
Since the USA does not have a welfare-state it should face unrestricted immigration according to Friedman's logic and merge intself into Brazil and Argentia and Venezuela as a giant free market area...................the culture, institutions, and heritage of the USA are irrelevant in the Global Marketplace
Why is it that the Untrammelled Free market brings you to the same point as Untrammelled State Power when the catastrophe plays itself out ?
Oh, I see Mr. Serf, how silly of me to forget or try and con you.
I want criminals to travel freely so they can freely burgle little old English ladies.(did I get it right there Mr. serf?)
Freedom means you have rights too serf.Yes, you!
In the little englander world of nonsense, it's them big bad Europeans doing the Brits (and we're not having that !!)
The single marketplace, freedom of travel and work, alongside social rights and resposibilities.
Poor countries raised up to the level of the lonesome market economy. Voila! another customer.
Simple.
Utopia.

Voyager, the United States has a massive welfare state.
As to the culture of the US becoming irrelevant, since US popular culture has an almost universal appeal (to the point that some states actually talk about suppressing it), I don't see that happening.
Voyager is saying basically.
"The US has a popular culture that must be defended becuase it is not popular."
