Swedish minister for European Affairs

The New Swedish Government has a sense of humour.

Cecilia Malmström, the MEP who organised a petition to relocate the European Parliament permanently to Brussels, has been appointed European affairs minister in the new Swedish government.
Europe ministers are usually chosen for their slavish devotion to all things federal. So can we expect a more sensible approach from the new Swedish Government on EU matters? Hat Tip: Miguel

Cecilia is both a federalist and very intelligent.

She dislikes the two-seats problem because it makes EU-politicians look like fools.

I don't know if that's enough to call her sensible according to this blog.

Thanks for the info. Its interesting that this issue is one that unites everyone (except the French), regardless of their position on the EU.
