German Reich the model for Europe

His Grace, Archbishop Cranmer is reporting that a German Minister claims that the first German Reich is the model for Europe.

Germany’s Culture Minister, Bernd Neumann, has voiced what some have suspected for decades: that Germany is creating the European Union in her image.
Even after this, sceptics like myself will still be called fantasists and conspiracy theorists. Its the Holy Roman Empire Folks, even if a little less than Holy and not particulary Roman.

The first german reich would have had the same level of democratic legitimacy as the EU. But I wonder how well this is going to go down in France, where the french government have long seen themselves as the rulers of the EU and tried to create Europe a la france. Perhaps they will be telling Herr Neumann that he has just missed a good opportunity to shut up.

German or Roman Empire, the model for the EU ?

Thank you for this important important information. Googling for the original publication, I found an article confirming the news. Unfortunately, the article is only in German
(http://www.german-foreign-policy.com/de/fulltext/56480)

Interestingly, the report states that the German pope is supportive of the planned Empire building. He has been invited by the president of the German parliament to give a talk next year on the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome.

While the political elite in Germany appears to be dreaming of the German Holy Empire, the French elite is probably dreaming of the ancient Roman Empire. The map of the Roman Empire (http://intranet.dalton.org/groups/Rome/RMap.html) corresponds nicely to the French plans for “Eurabia” (http://www.dhimmitude.org/d_today_eurabia.php). In a continuous flow of joint resolutions, Arab and European officials called for the diffusion of Arabic and Islamic culture in Europe. The resolution of the 1975 conference of the Parliamentary Association for Euro-Arab Cooperation anchored the Arab cultural autonomy by calling for the European governments to facilitate "the creation of generous means to enable immigrant workers and their families to participate in Arab cultural and religious life." Naturally, Islamic elites are dreaming of their ancient empire. According to Bat Ye'Or, the author of the book "Eurabia: The Euro-Arab Axis”, the French President Jacques Chirac proclaimed in 1996 during his visit to Cairo "Europe and Muslims should write history together."

Honorable people and politicians believe that the European Union will bring peace to Europe and the world. How likely is that outcome? Very unlikely, indeed. In 1939, the philosopher Albert Nock wrote an illuminating article (http://tmh.floonet.net/articles/ajnock.html): "The idea that the State originated to serve any kind of social purpose is completely unhistorical. It originated in conquest and confiscation--that is to say, in crime. It originated for the purpose of maintaining the division of society into an owning-and-exploiting class and a propertyless dependent class--that is, for a criminal purpose." "Like all predatory or parasitic institutions, its first instinct is that of self-preservation. All its enterprises are directed first towards preserving its own life, and, second, towards increasing its own power and enlarging the scope of its own activity."

"Many now believe that with the rise of the "totalitarian" State the world has entered upon a new era of barbarism. It has not. The totalitarian State is only the State; the kind of thing it does is only what the State has always done with unfailing regularity, if it had the power to do it, wherever and whenever its own aggrandizement made that kind of thing expedient. Give any State like power hereafter, and put it in like circumstances, and it will do precisely the same kind of thing. The State will unfailingly aggrandize itself, if only it has the power, first at the expense of its own citizens, and then at the expense of anyone else in sight. It has always done so, and always will. "

Thus the European Union might have been intended as a project of peace but it will be a powerful superstate and as such the EU "will unfailingly aggrandize itself," "first at the expense of its own citizens, and then at the expense of anyone else in sight.”

Here is Albert Nock’s Golden Rule of sound citizenship: “The first and greatest lesson in the study of politics: You get the same order of criminality from any State to which you give power to exercise it"

The EU's plan for Europe.

"Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Führer"

We should call the EU president EU-Fuhrer.
