A Greek Tragedy
If I were Greek, I would be very unhappy to hear this news.
Greeks entering the workplace from the mid-1990s onwards will have to work until they are around 75 years of age to avoid a collapse of the social insurance system, according to a study by the country's second largest bank.To work until you are 75 is unbelievable. What makes it worse is that these people could easily save for their own pension, but their contributions will be needed for those that don't. Governments that over spend on useless state actions, and skimp on what the the real need is are completely immoral. In Europe we have another phrase to describe it though..... The European Social Market Model.

the so-called "social" insurance scheme needs to go.
like everything prefaced by social it means the opposite.
Insurance is about pooling risk. Social insurance is about pooling people together and encouraging risks.
It is totally immoral, and breaks the most important freedom, the freedom of association.
It is a catastrophe for Greece. Greeks are living in a cameo dreamland, thinking and pretending thay are prosperous and affluent. The current situation in the country does not present the youth for opportunities in the future, sad; but it is to be expected when there is a fundamental lack of leadership and direction.
Greek politicians play the flute that they belong to the EU, imagining that the set up in itself will resolve all their problems, including their economic dreams.
Big fish swallows small fish. It is isn't anyone's fault really, it is that things are just like they are. The EU is a bureacracy that can grow larger by appending other states into its orbit.
Economically speaking , small countries such as Portugal and Greece, its citizens will not benefit from any inclusion. The ruling classes will, since they rule the roster.
The caravan of merchants trundles along, enlargement and expansion is its motto. It is no longer a EU one speaks of anymore, but a consortium of nations in an economic carousel. Once the borders of Europe expand, the original EU would have perished.
What kind of a EU is when countries such as Turkey, to be followed by Morocoo, Algeria, and others stretching to Kazakhstn joine the so called Union ?
