Failure

The subject of success or failure of a country’s 6 month presidency is a meme that has strengthened the federasts, by creating pressure for action. Therefore I normally refrain from making such statements. This however is one I agree with:
"We are not going to get fundamental reform of the EU budget in the last days that remain of the British presidency. We could have had it, but we squandered a tremendous opportunity. Now Tony Blair's deal will cost the British taxpayer £1 billion a year or more."
Why is this one different? Because their point of reference is the UK taxpayer, not the European Ideal. The people Tony Blair is failing are us.
