Ethical Union

Our European friends never seem to miss any excuse to stand in the way of free trade. Whether it is condemning farmers in African to poverty, stopping European consumers buy cheap Chinese clothing or protecting the strategic French Yoghurt industry from take over, it is a full time battle against the invisible hand. Why then is one sector exempt? Which one you ask, confused. Well arms of course.
The European Union is still committed to lifting its arms embargo on China, but this does not mean the bloc is getting set to increase weapons sales to the country, EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana said on Tuesday.
Let not the fate of the heroes of 1989 bother you. After all they were just bloody students. As for Taiwan, if they would just accept that communism isn’t so bad after all, the world would be a more peaceful place. No in the business of weapons trade, let nothing constrict the invisible hand. Well of course its invisible, its under the table.
