The Worst of Both

An American description of the EU

The EU is based on 19th century classical liberal ideas as interpreted by 20th century democratic socialists. The result has been a structure that combines the worst of both schools of thought.

In Europe, we call this combination compromise or consensus. No I have never thought much of it either.
