Allegiance to the Flag

Alfred the OK brought my attention to a story about someone who was punished for failing to display the EU flag on his number plate.

It turns out that actually the flag is not compulsory in the first place. So I suggest that all of you UK motorists out there cover your flag up with blue tape.
